ValidSign and the companies behind eWaarmerk, eSpecialisten B.V. and Sphereon B.V., are entering into an intensive collaboration to support organisations in the electronic certification and signing of digital files and their registration on the Blockchain.
The exchange of information in our society is increasingly digital. This naturally has many advantages. However, digital information can also be easily modified (manipulated) without this being clear to the user. In that case, the information is no longer authentic, integral, and reliable. The consequences can be far-reaching if it turns out that decisions are made based on incorrect information.
It is of great importance that the provider of digital information can guarantee that the information is 100% authentic, integral, and reliable, and that the recipient can easily verify this.
Digital signature (ValidSign)
ValidSign, market leader in digital signing in the Netherlands, has implemented the European directive regarding digital signatures for years. Article 15a of the Dutch Civil Code Book 3 states that an electronic signature has the same legal effect as a handwritten signature. By applying ValidSign, it is ensured that digitally signed documents are legally valid. Multiple people can also sign the same digital documents using ValidSign.
eWaarmerk
There are many documents that do not need to be signed but can still have consequences in legal dealings. Think of invoices, reminders, attachments, emails, photos, video files, construction drawings, tax assessments, decisions, reports, and databases. The receiving party can manipulate the information and use it in transactions with third parties. By applying an eWaarmerk to digital information and registering the eWaarmerk on the Blockchain, any recipient can validate the extent to which the received information is authentic. This applies to both individual files and the relationship between these documents (files).
Combination of ValidSign & eWaarmerk
By combining ValidSign and eWaarmerk, a powerful solution is offered that can be deployed for any desired process. This ensures the integrity of digital information. Signing by users can be enriched with advanced or qualified signatures based on PKI technology combined with the blockchain. The automatic application of eWaarmerk to information and its registration on the Blockchain can now be implemented in one go.
