As Delivery Manager at ValidSign, Erik Daggert is responsible for the Delivery department. The Delivery department handles the onboarding of new clients, as well as supporting existing clients with questions regarding the use or further expansion of services. A role that suits him perfectly and fits well with his social and helpful character.
Erik started at ValidSign as a Consultant in 2016 and has now been with the company for more than 5.5 years. "Shortly after obtaining my Bachelor’s degree in Business Economics, I started as a Consultant at what was then called Delivery Excellence. I seized the opportunity to get a startup with enormous potential off the ground, together with a handful of colleagues. This meant long working days and short nights for the team, but it was certainly worth it. We owe a large part of our success today to that period.
I have been able to witness most of the organisation’s milestones. From winning the first tenders to the transition from the on-premise solution to the ValidSign platform. A moment that has stayed with me in any case is the appointment on my second official working day. It was a meeting where my colleague took me to a consultation with Martinair, in an office at Schiphol. To reach this location, we drove across the runway by car. That was very impressive!
The beauty of ValidSign as an organisation is that with a relatively small team, we can make a big impact for very diverse organisations, from multinationals to small administration offices and from large construction companies to football clubs. Every client is different and it is incredibly exciting to be able to look into the various processes at all these organisations.
I initially started with delivering our solutions and supporting implementation processes at clients. The responsibilities expanded and I now maintain a helicopter view, so to speak, over what I was involved in day in, day out a few years ago. I manage the Delivery team with great pleasure.
Additionally, I am responsible for the technical information security of both our ValidSign environment and our clients’ data. I combine this with my role as product manager for the ValidSign applications and occasionally I am involved in the sales process in a pre-sales role, where the consultants primarily answer functional and technical questions from potential clients.
Despite the growth of the organisation, the familiar flat organisational structure has changed little. The people in leadership roles also get their hands dirty themselves and work on the same projects. This really appeals to me because I enjoy the hands-on work too much and as Delivery Manager I also learn from my team. The lines between the 25 colleagues are still short and everyone is very involved in the developments and successes of the organisation. We are in it together, after all!
At ValidSign there is a positive atmosphere where employees are given the space to develop. Based on the results of the 2021 employee survey, it was shown that ValidSign meets the criteria for good employership. ValidSign has been Great Place To Work certified since July 2021.
Looking further at current developments, our focus is largely on customer success. Ensuring that the thousands of clients we currently serve speak favourably about us and stay with us is fortunately going very well. I must say, however, that it has become considerably more challenging since the corona crisis forced us to only speak with clients online. During a face-to-face meeting, it is easier to build a relationship with a client and to better respond to their needs. We aim to get the customer satisfaction score from the current 94 percent to 100 percent. I am convinced we can do this.
